Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar

In August, Habyt Asia Pacific chief executive officer Jonathan Wong signalled that the company was planning to include even more short-term living alternatives to its local lineup. The first properties under the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both started in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept involve Habyt Cantonment and Owen Property by Habyt.

“By mixing modern-day benefits with the ageless beauty of a heritage building, we’re offering guests an unique lifestyle journey that goes beyond standard accommodation,” adds Wong.

SLA pointed out Bethesda’s strong focus on area structure and connecting people with businesses as what gave its approach the winning edge. The first floor will feature 10 F&B offerings, whilst the 2nd level will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness facility in collaboration with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working space. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the 3rd level.

The adaptable space lies throughout a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey structure, designed by the architectural company Swan & Maclaren, was among the oldest modernist buildings in Singapore. It was developed to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.

Habyt has already released a brand-new accomodation spot at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the flagship space for the operator’s Habyt Flex concept, which offers a strategic expanding of the firm’s product offerings past long-term co-living.

Kada at Maxwell will use a variety of openings, including en suite studios and two- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchenette. Visitors can book rooms on a nightly or every week basis, with a 12-month selection also offered.

Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy unlimited and courtesy access to the property’s health and wellness facilities, such as the performance fitness center, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs and foot baths.

Wong states Habyt Kada at Maxwell speaks for the company’s promise to redefining flexible living in Singapore and marks its change towards the next stage of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell is going to begin at $180 per day.

A public tender to lease the property, now handled by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was launched in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based upon the bid price and the quality of the proposed idea, and SLA urged bidders to think about fresh way of life principles.

The site was granted to Bethesda Medical, which submitted a per month rental bid of $103,000, the third-highest bid price after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
